Dear sirs,

In answer to your letter of to-day's date, we

regret that the paragraph published in last night's "China

Mail is not considered satisfactory to your client.

As we are of opinion that the letter signed "wireless"

is legitimate criticism of a matter of general public interest

we cannot see our way to publishing the wi tu drawal and

apology you suggest.
